Final Post of the Year

We want to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support through the the year.  We have had an amazing year with your children and are so proud of them.

Today proved to be an emotional and bittersweet day for us.  We are so happy for the sk children to start their new adventures in Grade One but are very sad to see them go! It's incredible to see how much they have grown and learned in 2 years!

Next year brings new beginnings with new jk students coming in.  This means our "new"sk students will be the leaders.  Mrs. T AND I are so excited to see them take the lead and show the new students the ropes!!!

Wishing you all a safe and restful summer with your families.

For the children moving up to Grade One

Dear Parents,

Please find attached the link to a little keepsake for our sk friends who are moving up to Grade One.  It truly has been wonderful working with your children.  We are so proud of each and every one of them! Wishing you all a safe and restful summer!

Teddy Bear Picnic

We have had an amazing week!  The kids had a blast at the splash pad on Wednesday and the weather held up for us.  It was so cute to watch the kids having fun in the water and climbing on the play structure. Somehow it didn't seem to poop them out for quiet time! Thank you to all the parents who volunteered.

There was a blue note that came home today regarding a teddy bear picnic to celebrate the summer birthdays.  It was a last minute decision so hopefully you all saw the note.  We will go outside with our teddy bears tomorrow and enjoy a snack on our blankets.  If it rains, we will have our picnic inside.

On Monday, we are going to celebrate Canada's birthday by wearing red and white.  We will talk about how old Canada will be and explore all things Canadian!

Please send in all library books.  Mrs. Baker is trying to do inventory on the books in the library and needs them back ASAP.  She will be sending notes home tomorrow with replacement costs.

Here are pictures from the splash pad:

Week of June 12th

We are very excited for our Father's Day celebration on Friday at 1:30 pm.  If you have not sent back your RSVP form, please send it back as soon as possible.  We are hoping for sunny skies instead of the rain that is forecasted.  Please remember to bring a special snack and drink for you and your child as well as a blanket to sit on.  We hope you can all make it.

Our word of the week is "dad".  We talked about words that are spelled the same both forward and backwards and dad is one of them.  We also learned that these are called palindromes.   The sk friends did a great job writing about their love for their dad and how wonderful their daddies are!

This week will be the last of our letter and word of the week.  Please continue to point out our popcorn words as well as practice letters (recognition as well as their associated sounds).

I can't believe the year is coming to an end.  It has been so much fun watching these kids grow and learn.  We are so proud of them!

The week of June 5th

Is it really June??? Mother nature is sure making it hard for us to get out and enjoy the weather.  We are hoping the weatherman is correct for the next few days. Everyone is in need of some serious Vitamins D!

A note went home today regarding our Father's Day celebration.  We are hoping you can all attend on June 16th at 1:30 .  Please send back the form indicating if you can join us.

Our letter of the week is "i" and our word of the week is "little".  The kids had a great observation of this word.. it has 2 "t"s  and 2 "l"s .  The sk students wrote about things that are little in their journals, so.   See the pictures for great writing samples.

We were busy learning about germs on Monday and the importance of washing your hands.
